Now, if you don’t know your router’s IP address, try — 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. These are the two most common default IP address for routers. However, if this doesn’t work, or if someone has changed the default login address, then this is what you can do.

Find your Router’s IP Address

Windows

If you are on Windows machine, open cmd and type in the following command and hit enter. The value next to default gateway is your router’s IP address. ipconfig

If for some reason, you don’t have access to cmd, then you can do it with GUI as well. Go to Network and Sharing center> Connections > Details. And look for the router’s IP address next to IPv4 Default Gateway. (see screenshot)

MAC

If you are on MAC computer, then open up the terminal and type in the following command. The value next to a gateway is your Router’s IP address. route -n get default

Linux

Again, since MAC is based on Linux kernel, steps are pretty similar in both OS. Open the terminal, type the following command and hit enter. The IP address below the Gateway is your router’s IP address. route -n

Android/iOS

You can also find the router’s IP address from your smartphone. Simply install any network scanner app like Fing (available for both iOS and Android). Next, open the app and refresh it so that it can scan your WiFi. Now, tap on the network name on the top and look for the value next to the gateway. This is your router’s IP address. What Next? Now, once you have the router’s login address, enter that in the URL box of a web browser. Now you’ll then asked for login credentials. Again, in most cases, the default username and password are either — admin and admin or admin and password. Or you can check this online database.
